Ensemble Praeteritum

Ensemble Praeteritum created and directed by the violinist Pablo Suárez Calero in 2011. ain objectives are the search for new interpretive horizons and a unique care for the colors of the sound. Praeteritum dialogues with the public through classical music, creating for them a special and unique beauty in each project.

Praeteritum has participated in important tours and festivals like 34th Festival Internacional de Música de Canarias, Festival de Música Sacra de Madrid, Ciclo de Música de Cámara de Ourense and Festival Bal y Gay in Lugo, among others.

Likewise, Praeteritum had the honor of offering a concert tribute to the 75th anniversary of Auschwitz´s liberation, which was presided over by H.M. Queen Sofia. One of the latest Pablo Suárez Calero projects with Praeteritum is “Mendelssohn en Vallekas”; a social and cultural initiative to bring high quality classical music to neighborhoods that are outside the conventional circuits of classical music.
